 Best bits of your course

Swinging above a river on sticks tied together , swimming in and sliding

down a water fall! Watching Miss Senior and the other teachers fall in the water. They had a go even when they were a bit scared too. Miss Carter’s pink boots were great. Mr Ham was really fit.

 Most challenging bits…

Canoeing on a really windy and strong river, climbing on a really high climbing wall,

Over coming our fears of heights and deep water! The wind was really strong and we only just managed to get back from our trip on the lake

What did you learn about yourself?

That we will try everything even if were scared and we will try and have fun! Learning to trust others isn’t easy but really good.

What did you learn about others (your team mates)

Some of them will do things if you don’t think it’s too bad and some will try everything with you! I like my class.

What did you learn about the environment?

Some of it can be scary, some can be cold or calm and some can be really fun!

 Best bits of your course

When we went canoeing there was a hawthorn bush and our teacher rode in to the bush and 2 pupils’s dropped to the floor and squashed our other teacher. Also when we went Gorge Walking a pupil enjoyed helping her friend because the pupil was surprisingly good at Gorge walking wanted to make sure her friend was safe.

 Most challenging bits…

We found the rock climbing very challenging because your arms got tired whilst you climbed up the hard walls and it was hard to get down because the adults didn’t belay you. When I went gorge walking I found it challenging when we jump in the instructor’s arms. I found the rock climbing because when I was a foot above me teachers head I was scared and I had to climb down all the time.

What did you learn about yourself?

I learnert about myself that I am a good paddler and I also had a great time. I learned about my self that I can trust my friends even if I’m scared and I can be confident in all of the activities that I have done. Also another thing I learnt about myself is that I can start to trust my team mates with the rock climbing things other then the independent things. I also learnt that I am getting better of my fears.

What did you learn about others (your team mates?)

What I learnt about my team mates is that they can be VERY friendly and are great to work with. What I also learnt about my team mates was that they will always give you a confident boost in things you’re not very confident in. What I also learnt about my team mates is that they are very kind, encouraging and friendly.

What did you learn about the environment?

What I learnt about the environment is that if water goes over rocks, it will wear them away and that means they are quite old. What I also learnt that there is a current in lake/rivers. What I also learnt is when we’re in our dormitories we have to save electricity and not keep the light on all the time because the people who work at Oakland’s will have to pay more money for what we waste.
