 Best bits of your course

Mine exploration, rock climbing and a group of individuals coming together as a team.

 Most challenging bits…

Having to put your faith in the hands of your team mates in potentially dangerous situations.

What did you learn about yourself?

That we can conquer our fears if we face up to them with the help of our team mates.

What did you learn about others (your team mates)

That others are willing to assist you if you are willing to assist them.

What did you learn about the environment?

To sustain the future we must look after today’s environment.

Green Group

 Best bits of your course

We liked the gorge walking because it was challenging, different and fun! We loved climbing up the Elephant’s bottom!

 Most challenging bits…

Some of us found canoeing challenging because our arms got tired. Others found the rock climbing challenging because the abseiling was tricky. However, every person in our group managed it!

What did you learn about yourself?

We can do ANYTHING if we put our minds to it.

What did you learn about others (your team mates)

You can trust and rely upon other people. We found that we encouraged each other when we were finding it tough.

What did you learn about the environment?

It’s very pretty if you take a moment to glance around at it. It is also very muddy and slippy when it’s been raining!

Red Group

Megan, Harry, Harvey, Beth, Jess, Liam, Sarah, Melissa and Max.

 Best bits of your course

We enjoyed the canoeing because we learn to work together as a team.

 Most challenging bits…

Rock climbing because some of us were scared of heights but we overcame our fears. Climbing up the gorge sometimes on our tummies to get under some very slippery large boulders.

What did you learn about yourself?

However hard we thought the activity was going to be, we tried our best and we will look back and know we achieved the goals we set for ourselves.

What did you learn about others (your team mates)

We learnt that we could trust in each other.  When we were rock climbing we felt safe because we knew we could rely on our team mates to look after us.

What did you learn about the environment?

We should treat it with respect.  The only thing that we should leave is our footprints and not our litter.  We learnt when we were gorge walking that when treading on the rocks that the grey rocks were ‘ok’, the green were ‘mean’ and the brown you were going ‘down’.
