St Georges Group One (2-4 March 2009)

Welcome to your blog.

Here's what you guys had to say about your course....

Best bits of your course

Slate Mines, Rafting, Gorge walking up the mine, Rock climbing, abseiling down the rock , jumping in puddles. Going in the slate mine when we had to slide down steep drops. Richard’s front flip, jumping in to the pool whilst gorge walking, going through the elephant’s bottom, abseiling down a cliff, eroded bridge – Erosion!! Also watching Harry fall over lots of times!!!

Most challenging bits…

Making the beds, abseiling down the rock, hard to see in the mine, daily rote The gorge walking was most challenging because it was very cold and we needed help from our team mates. Working with people we don’t know, stepping off the cliff edge whilst abseiling, climbing through the mine, making our beds (!) and braving the weather!

What did you learn about yourself?

To conquer your fears, walking up the steep hills is easier We can face our fears; meet new friends from other classes; do things we thought we couldn’t do. We can face our fears and do anything we put our minds to if we have faith in ourselves. We can get along well with lots of different people that we don’t know.

What did you learn about others (your team mates)

Snore, good teamwork, depending on your team mates We can be supportive of each other and we can work together. We learnt that we are all different and have different skills.

That they are really helpful and good to take down with you!

They are funny, kind and know lots about erosion! We all got on really well and worked as a team.

What did you learn about the environment?

Take nothing but photo graphs and leave nothing but foot prints, shut gates, turn off the lights when not in room, We learnt about the history of the area; we should take care of the environment. We also learnt about frogs! It is very picturesque and needs looking after. We learnt how slate was mined and used.

And your photos....
