Best bits of your course

Night line, mountain climbing, zipwireing in a gorge, sliding down a mountain in snow, having Miss Brooks (the best teacher), Teamwork, Ghost Walk.

Most challenging bits…

Getting out of the gorge by climbing up a rock, getting up the summit of the mountain, getting up the whole mountain, organising equipment, the night line, making beds/ room inspection marks.

What did you learn about yourself?

I Can…

  • Mountain climb (Beth and Megan).
  • do anything if I try hard enough (Hayden)
  • do more than I think I can (Zack)
  • Always reach my goals (Joe W),
  • Always succeed if I push myself(Clara)
  • Be very determined (Ramana).

 

What did you learn about others (your team mates)

People can be very supportive and helpful. Everyone is unique in their abilities.

What did you learn about the environment?

Even though we were getting higher, closer to the sun, it got colder.

It’s beautiful and can be very inspiring.

‘Snice’ and nice ice is very nice.

Best bits of your course

Cannoeing, Gorge Walking, Having water fights, Toasting marshmallows, Breaking the ice on the water while canoeing, blindfolded doing the nightline.

Most challenging bits…

Abseiling, Making our beds perfectly!! Rock Climbing, Preparing the room for inspections, getting organised e.g. equipment, lighting a fire with a flint.

What did you learn about yourself?

That you can do things if you try, We can overcome some of our fears, Working in a team is crucial.

What did you learn about others (your team mates)

Everybody is different in what they can do; even the smallest things can scare people, always treat your teamates with respect and give them your support.

What did you learn about the environment?

Respecting the enviroment is important for ourselves and other people; the natural enviroment can be dangerous so listen and follow the instructions you have been given. The enviroment has many surprises because of its natural beauty.

Best bits of your course

Cody: When I fell into the gorge and suddenly the water was up to my belly!

Ella: When I ended up swimming in the gorge!

Bernice: I really enjoyed the night walk because it was scary and interesting.

Lochlan: Getting to the summit of Conway mountain.

Katy: When I fell over while abseiling and walking through the waterfall at the gorge.

Cameron: Walking through the waterfall into the cave.

Millie: Jumping into the gorge and Mr. Paul dropping his helmet in horse poo!

Ashlin: Walking through the gorge and when Mr. Paul carried my rucksack!

Tom: When we hiked up Conway Mountain and saw the amazing views from the summit.

Anders: I thought gorge walking was really good fun

Carrying heavy rucksacks

Hiking up the mountain

Doing the rock climb, particularly climbing down

I’m good at rock climbing

If you keep trying, you will get better at something

I could do more than I thought

Working well as a team means everyone can complete an activity

Some people at not very good at some things, but really good at others

What did you learn about the environment?

It’s really important to keep our countryside tidy and respect it.
