Use of photos...
Visiting groups to Oaklands Outdoor Education Centre have the opportunity to
take out with them one of our waterproof digital cameras. These cameras have the
capability to take high resolution photos as well as limited video footage.
These image resources are transferred to a CD at the end of each course and
given to the Group Leader, for use at their discretion based on visiting groups
policies.
Oaklands OEC recognises that images can be an extremely powerful means to
record and review the extraordinary experiences of our Outdoor Courses, but also
recognise the concerns of parents and guardians regarding the use of these
images. Oaklands OEC endeavours to take a responsible attitude towards the use of
digital images. As a result we have drawn up these guidelines, based on the Department for Educations advice for the use of digital images:
- Oaklands will only take and/or use images if permission has been obtained
from parents or guardians of any students under the age of 18 at the Centre
- Permission is sought on our new consent forms, however
some schools/youth clubs often seek permission themselves to take/use
images. Where appropriate Oaklands will follow the guidelines of
visiting groups
- When using images for publicity purposes (either on our website or for
other publications), group shots would be used in preference to shots of
individuals
- No images of young people partially clothed will be used
- No images of young people making inappropriate gestures or gestures that
could be interpreted as inappropriate will be used
- No full names of pupils will be used in conjunction with any images
- If you feel that any image used on our website is inappropriate then we
shall remove it as soon as possible. You can use the form below to request
the removal of any photos from our website
